Wax seals are a classic and elegant way to add a personal touch to invitations, letters, and other stationery. Using wax beads, a burner, a candle, and a spoon, you can create a perfect wax seal that adds a touch of sophistication to your correspondence. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to make a perfect wax seal using these materials:

Materials Needed:

  1. Wax beads: You can find wax beads in various colours and finishes, such as traditional sealing wax colours like red, gold, or silver, as well as modern options like metallics or pastels. Choose high-quality wax beads that are specifically designed for sealing purposes for the best results.
  2. Wax burner: A wax burner, also known as a wax seal stamp, is a tool that holds the wax bead and allows you to melt it to create a seal.
  3. Candle: You'll need a tea light to melt the wax beads in the wax burner. Choose a candle that is clean-burning and unscented to avoid any unwanted odours or residue on your wax seal.
  4. Spoon: A metal spoon is essential for smoothing and shaping the melted wax to create a perfect seal. Look for a spoon with a smooth and rounded bowl that is large enough to cover the entire wax bead.

Step 1: Choose Your Perfect Wax Beads

Get ready to unleash your creativity! Pick out your favourite wax beads in the colour and finish that speaks to your style. Whether it's a classic red, a shimmering gold, or a trendy metallic, the possibilities are endless. We recommend using 3-4 wax beads per seal. Pop the beads into the spoon.

Step 2: Melt the Wax and Feel the Heat

Now it's time to get that wax flowing! Light up your candle, place the burner over the candle and pop the spoon into the burner. *Be careful, it's hot*. Watch as the wax beads transform into a mesmerising pool of molten magic. The anticipation builds as you see the wax come to life, ready to create a seal that's uniquely yours!

Step 3: Pour on the Fun It's showtime!

Pick up the spoon by the handle (do not touch any of the metal) and tilt your spoon to pour the wax onto your chosen surface, whether it's an envelope, a letter, a makers mat, gift or another creative project. Pour slowly moving the spoon in a circular motion to create a neat circle. Return the spoon to the burner if you're going to make another one, or pop the spoon onto a heat safe surface.

Step 4: Press with Passion This is where the real fun begins! Take your seal, and press it into the molten wax gently but firmly! Feel the thrill as the heat and pressure from your seal leave a crisp and clear impression in the wax. Hold it for a few seconds until the wax cools, and revel in the satisfaction of removing the seal from the wax with a delightful 'click' sound.

So go ahead and unleash your creativity, and have a blast making perfect wax seals with all the supplies. It's a fun and rewarding DIY project that lets you leave your mark in style! Happy sealing!
